"female only" spaces if such exclusion is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim.
This is kind of the whole point of equality: you can't cast out one group just because you find them icky, or have certain "beliefs".
The only group who have an issue with this are the transphobes.

A couple of things I think a lot of people fail to appreciate about the EA are:
i) It also exists to protect against indirect discrimination and discrimination by perception or association.
ii) The exceptions are just that, *exceptions*, not positive rights justified in and of themselves.
I really struggle to get my head around the arguments that JKR & her ilk put forward. I think this is less about my failure to understand and more about their crazy, illogical points. I am so sorry that you & others are having to deal with this.
