Rishi Sunak's speech was very honourable in referencing how unremarkable it is for a 2nd generation Hindu to become PM in the UK. I do wonder what welcome his grandparents would have received under the Tories today, if they would be welcome at all. Would they be in danger of deportation to Rwanda?

I'm not sure that's going to be the case. The radicalisation of the GOP in America is at last in part down to the gerrymandering of election boundaries. Politicians pick their voters in the USA and it pushes them to the extremes.
