This is even super fun when people honk at blind ppl standing at corners to cross- they are there listening for traffic and idling cars are a masking sound for the rest of the intersection. They are taught not to move

I created a 5 step consent-seeking behavior pattern #SNAAP and using the $ for a pilot to ensure the coaching sequence is correct. Hope it can become proven practice in preservation of #PersonalAutonomy and #BodilyAutonomy in students with disabilities (who grow into adults!)

It is nice to see that #AltText is taking off. Do keep in mind most people w/visual impairments may not use screen readers but magnifying tech which does not do #AltText. Adding a pic description to posts along AltText is best practice

Spent the week with nine teens with visual impairments at Bamfield Marine Science Center. Barely saw any sun, got soaked multiple times, but watching the teens grow in confidence, social skills, and marine science knowledge was awesome
