So you don't really need to do the grapple thing, you just need to play a public instance with three other people and the Grave Walker is toast. I did the fight twice because I fucked up and didn't get the code for the first unlockable character the first time, second fight was over in seconds.

There's an enemy in the zone where Jeff's playing that's just a Mancubus, I'm sure it's not the exact character model from Doom Eternal (Nexon wouldn't risk a lawsuit from Bethesda, or at least I doubt they would) but it sure looks extremely close.

Not sure how I feel about this game yet, technically it's very polished but there's a kind of coldness to how it looks, a lack of a distinctive personality. It VERY much wants to be Destiny but those games have a warmth and charm to them that this one lacks, at least so far.

That's where I stopped, Greg's followed by a much tougher Grave Walker that I think requires you to use the grapple-and-climb approach (I saw no ammo refills or drops) but despite that extensive tutorial note earlier I couldn't figure out how to do it, so I'll try that another time.

The first real boss is inexplicably named Greg and has THREE phases, but two of these phases are functionally identical (you have to shoot 3 spheres floating over him that make him invulnerable) and all include an attack that locks onto you that can be dodged but is incredibly annoying.

Giving The First Descendant a try, love how it gives you an extended tutorial popup on how to grapple onto the Grave Walker and fight it SOTC-style and then all you have to do is shoot the fucking thing until it falls over and explodes.

Without those things, I know I'd barely be able to keep my head above water. As it is, I'm usually working 50-60 hour weeks and the job is ridiculously physically demanding, especially for the pay we get (less than $20 an hour in my current position).

The only reason I'm even remotely stable- and that's taking into account I'm still paying off credit card debt, student loan debt, and my car every month!- is because I rent one room at as low as I could find, and I've got my sister helping out with meals, laundry, and groceries.

I'm also running into the usual roguelite problem: the more shit you unlock, the harder it can be to get what you actually need. I've gone several runs now without seeing either of those hand-expanding vouchers, which would be very helpful with the black deck (reduces available hands by 1).
