But then when you math in all the homegrown militias that would openly cede leadership to the guy, the brownshirt mob that he's already got who would willingly do whatever he says as long as they won't face prosecution (again); there's a pretty fair amount when you only have to repress those areas.

How many of these guys do you think are out there and actually willing to do anything scary? I suspect the answer is “many more than we want there to be, but also way too few to easily crush huge populations of pissed off people with money who hate them.”
