10 years of being involved in electoral politics, and I've heard that first hand from the people who do it. SE VA used to be blue as the sky is wide, and they turned their backs on blue because Dems came begging for votes but did nothing to help them when they won every single time.

4 years of a president in office, and most of the impact made benefitted upper and ruling classes. Yet every 4 years the hand wringing of why tens of millions of eligible voters didn't vote as if we don't know why. If your party does nothing for people, they do nothing for you. They don't vote.

"but applies to so much more". Clara isn't on the pro-protest side unless everyone meets her criteria since she had criticisms of the previous protests at houses of justices, and that was included her "so much more" add-on citing an Atlantic article that was very anti-protest.

Yea, because she knows what she said when she called all protests at Supreme Court Justice's houses "uncivil" because she didn't support them. Also like she's called all pro-Palestine protests "the fashionable cause of the moment" and said that a majority don't even know what they're saying.

I just don't like giving them money unless I absolutely positively have to use my Walmart card I got years ago because of the working conditions and wages. I'd give someone else more money for the same product just because it wasn't going into the Walton family bank account.

I think that second part discounts that conscription was very much a thing there already and 18-26 year olds were already being pulled into the national service system and trained. Only they didn't have to see combat until they turned 27. Also defending against an outside invader.

Roughly 20k in active militia groups, then it's an easy jump to realize that some portion of the 78M who voted for the guy in 2020 would willingly pick up arms for "their guy" since they believe that MAGA nonsense. We said J6 couldn't happen too, until the police opened the gates for them.
