All this time I assumed they'd have radar/lidar because that's the reasonable, obvious thing. I'm a Tesla hater and even I didn't think it was that bad.

They used to have a super cheap radar that was only designed for adaptive cruise control (Autopilot was originally just ACC and a camera-based lane keeping system duct taped together) but they have dropped radar for "pure vision," ostensibly because sensor fusion is hard (yet everyone else does it)
