Actually, Danwtrail kinda succeded with many things Stormblood did poorly. It actually pulls off the 2-in-1 expansion well, whereas SB did Gyr Abania dirty. The story is *actually* NOT about the WoL, whereas SB ended up about Zenos obsessing over us. They did a good redemption arc, unlike Yotsuyu

Finally, the job changes... Picto and Viper are great additions. The changes to "simplify" opd jobs however have all backfired. BLM has MP problems, tanks have aggro issues and pointless changes, MNK is kinda worse overall etc. Overall: it's much better than Stormblood but it has big issues

The zones are pretty and generally more interestingly designed than before. Yuk T'el (and partially Shaaloani) stand out in particular. Unfortunately the world zone content is still the *exact* same. Same boring fates, same hunts with absurd timers. It's FFXIV's biggest flaw since 2.0

The music is some of Soken's best. Battle and dungeon themes are all great. Tulliyollal theme is a banger. Even most zone themes are great, which isn't always the case. Dungeons are still bad design-wise, but the boss encounters are some of the best, even including some actually new mechanics

So I still have two more levels to go but so far: the story is good, with some big highs and big lows. The biggest hindrances are the major pacing issues and some bad quest design. Voice acting is good, tho it feels like they weren't allowed to shout in the recording booth

I'm honestly really curious about CBU3's online architecture. MMOs are generally known for spaghetti code but the fact congestion happens so easily in so many places is strange. Even the glamour plate system is very limited because of it. And it's something the older competition doesn't have

I've seen a statement that if you don't like Wuk Lamat you are just homophobic and sorry to say but a character being voiced by a trans person doesn't automatically mean you have to like them. I don't hate her myself, but at least for the first dozen hours or so she is written as an annoyance

Star Rail was already impressive for a f2p game but Zenless Zone Zero is just straight up on par with Persona in terms of style and on par (though simpler to fit mobile) with character action greats. Cool to see Genshin money be put into development of better games

Basically, since MP regen in Umbral Ice is now not based on server ticks but rather on when an ice spell *hits*, BLM is pretty much unusable in dungeons because you have no regen between pulls. Sharp cast and Thundercloud are gone too. The dps performance is lacking because of all that

The "certain jobs" ripping aggro issue is mostly Pictomancer. If you prep your motifs beforehand, the damage is massive. You can get Pom Muse -> Wing Muse -> Mog of the Ages in like less than 3 GCs if you have 2 charges of Muse and swiftcast. You can then continue with hammer

It's a win on paper, except a huge chunk of those renewables aren't environment friendly either. Solar panels are the closest to being that. Wind turbines are hell for anyone living anywhere close to them and water power plants need to be limited in number to avoid destroying the eco system

Honestly, the only pieces of Harry Potter media I can still at least respect are some of the movies and even then none of it is really thanks to JKR. The John Williams score in the first three is some of his best work and Prisoner of Azkaban is overall great from an artistic standpoint
