As many as there are, Jean Renoir's¹ epic: Grand Illusion (1939), is in a class *utterly by itself*... Chef's 😘 It is, sadly sad sad to say, again all-too goose-bumps-prescient. ¹The Master's grandson... who takes an *hilarious* cameo turn in a Shakespeare-ish entr'acte.

Grand Illusion is *remarkable.* Same goes for so many of Renoir's works. It feels like a shame that the DVD's out of print and that it's not readily available for streaming in most places. There's Kanopy, but not every public library participates in that program. But aye, wonderful film, that.
