Yep, basically my take. Biden was hoping for a strong SOTU-like performance out of the gate to prove he's got the energy for this to voters. He didn't do that. All the same, Trump reminded a few voters why they voted him out too.

That was all I could watch. My take: The start of the debate was really bad for Biden. He got better later, and Trump got worse, but wasn't what Biden wanted out of tonight. Both candidates got their jabs and clippable moments. I doubt this changes the race much either way.
