That means a lot. I've been thinking about getting another dog, but haven't been ready yet. His passing was traumatic and undignified and still hurts.

Wait to adopt again until after the ache goes down some? I think it'll be better for both of you. You don't adopt pets, you're not that kind of guy, you adopt ~family~. That's a more complicated emotional process, needing more time makes sense. So does this kind of mourning.
