I mean, you could make an argument that special elections bring out the highest of high propensity voters, who are usually college educated professionals, who have drifted since 2000 pretty steadily into the dem camp, but even then jesus christ.

The argument I guess is that turnout benefit has totally switched, but I don’t know that that 100% follows from dems starting to do better in midterms and specials.
