I think it's very naive for people to assume that even if Ukraine agrees to some kind of deal, that it will mean actual 'peace' when Putin has been working to slowly annex Ukraine for almost 2 decades. Fully possible that Ukraine negotiates, there is a lull in fighting, and then Russia starts again
