I hate that it's AI doing this. It's can't preserve nuance. I don't necessarily hate making easier versions of books for people who aren't strong readers yet. I think a lot about Robinson Crusoe in Words of One Syllable, adapted in the 1860s for very young kids to learn to read.

I hate that the implication is that there should be no progression of reading skill and all books should be "easy".
