Kinda get why GenZ hate response gifs. It's 3.30 am and we're having a problem with Verizon and have been chatting with them for about an hour to figure out what's up. They just sent me a weird 'Be Right Back' gif featuring a clock going crazy.

Yes. It's a western. I get that. (Also, the only reason I liked Dances with Wolves for a hot minute was because of Graham Greene's character--he was soo good in the movie. Costner and the white slave narrative with Mary McDonnell was meh even then.)

It's frustrating to me--an insignificant person with zero influence--because I think it's a mistake to drop Biden. But it's now clear that as long as Biden *is* the nominee, the election is about him and not the actual villain of the piece. It's like making 'Hamlet' about Laertes instead of Hamlet.

Staying or going, Biden supporters have to start talking more about what's going on with the GOP than sniping at one another. Biden will do what he does. Up until today, I was very firmly on the 'stay' side. Now? Who the fuck cares. Look at the GOP and start yelling at them instead of Dems.

I DO NOT think Baldwin was the second coming of John Landis, btw. I genuinely believe it was an unfortunate accident, a genuine tragedy. But as producer, he *was* responsible for the hiring of a known irresponsible armourer, and conditions on set were apparently terrible. But criminal? I dunno.

Yes, but apparently the judge threw that out. So nope, the prosecution (pun alert!) shot themselves in the foot in their opening argument. Civil trial? Sure, but I dunno there will be one because Baldwin acted swiftly, gave the fam money, and got them to say he wasn't responsible.

Ok but if his being a producer is no longer admissible, then playing make-believe was his job, and he was reliant upon the person hired to hand him a fake gun. It wasn't his job, as an actor, to question if the gun had real bullets because that was the armourer's job to verify through expertise.

Once again: Rewatching Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and wondering how he does it each week. 2nd season eps and incremental changes. Not insignificant, but 30+ eps a season and so far as I can tell only 2-3 eps turned out moving the needle.

Fair. I think it's less lazy than a few of the Marvel shows, and if we're gonna endure a generation of Disney doing Marvel/Star Wars stuff, they could do worse than this one. But! Totally get why it's not working for you. I just think it's better than the Fett series they tried to do.

I disagree. It's done fairly interesting things with a mythos that is bare-bones. And Star Wars has always been manufactured so I never get why people get so annoyed about the FX parts of it. It's ALL bullshit. But if you don't find it fun, I understand.

It's a necessity--we're going through various crises (crisises?) and need to tighten belts so cooking it is. We have the AC going full blast in the bedroom so I retreat in there between chopping or shoving things in the oven. My curse is sucking at microwave cooking, but being good at stove cooking.

It must work. We've been here 15 years and it never occured to anyone in all the times the super snaked our drain to just.... rebuild the pipe situation. They only did it this time because seal broke and there was no other way to deal with it. 15 years head-start on fleeing is pretty good.

Plumbers came in and completely redid our bathroom sink. The main pipe coming out of the wall, which hasn't been touched in at least 20 years, had large pieces of glass too big for the drain shoved into it. WTF? No wonder it clogged every few months.

We have tons of DVDs and Blu-rays and really miss the commentaries. And yes, I suppose just getting a player would make more sense but I was kinda hoping the thing we already have is revivable. I guess it's as dead as VHS.

Yeah. Nothing I can find online helps very much. It all begins with 'select name of disc in menu if it doesn't play automatically.' The name of the disc appears nowhere in any of the submenus. Ah well.

Doubt I'll get an answer but: The only DVD player we have now is a very old and very heretofore unused PS3. We hooked it up for the first time in ages, and it still recognizes games but not DVDs. Reset it and still no luck. Anyone have any suggestions? Or is it a lost cause?

I'm on season 2 and watching the immediate reaction to Trump's first presidential debate, where he accused Megyn Kelly of having blood coming out of her 'wherever,' then Oliver dismissing Trump?
