Honestly, the sound difference between Vulgar Latin and Italian is surprisingly large. While it's the closest major living descendent, Logudorese Sardinian is a little closer, but still not really there.

It kills me how much more quickly PA could be crossed on rail with simple investment and traffic prioritization. Also, niche opinion, but I think PA needs a third major city, placed roughly in the middle of the state.
