This isnt even the first time I've seen someone make this same dumbass point but how do you get to the point where you know hindenburg was president in weimar germany but don't know the most famous thing he did. I can only assume they just google "who was president of germany before hitler"

Not everybody needs to know that Hindenburg, pathetically ancient and frail, handed the chancellorship to Hitler because communists were "worse" but you would think a Wapo oped writer might not make a smug point suggesting the opposite.
