This exact thing occurred to me just yesterday, as in, the government currently having cabinet meetings, announcing policies, meeting world leaders etc. only found out they *were* the government THE PREVIOUS MORNING!

I work form my cabin/shed in my garden, and over time the wooden structure has become more 'porous', so bugs and so forth get in often. As a result, when a spider lands on my person, I've gone from "AAAAAARRRGH! GETITOFFGETITOFFGETITOFF" to "Oh! Steve, give it a rest mate. I'm working".

Totally agree. She was great in many ways. And that was clear at the time. Which is why the show constantly holding up a big glowing arrow with AWESOME written on it and pointing it directly at her quickly became jarring.

I liked Clara a lot, but I felt they too often went with the 'Tell, don't show' option. As in, people kept saying 'Isn't Clara great!', rather than just showing her being great (e.g. War Doctor in 50th anniversary show) Gave her an undeserved "Where's Poochie?" vibe
