I've been trying to think through how much of my support for Biden dropping out is actually fueled by a frustration that he ran in the first place, and specifically that the chaotic and dangerous situation we're now in was predictable, avoidable, and not the fault of people calling for him to quit
I would question how much of the “chaos” you describe is due to Biden (none IMO) and how much is due to other people creating chaos (all of it IMO).
In other words, Biden hasn’t created chaos, other people have created it and are the folks that should be addressed.
Am I misremembering, or did the Biden campaign in 2020 propose that he was running for only one term? Wasn’t that their response to the worry that he was too old *then*?
Is that frustration a critical lens for understanding the risks of staying in or is it a distorting cognitive bias making me want him to drop out? I think either way I'd like to put everyone who brought us here in stocks in the town square for idk four months
My frustration is that it’s a fucking pattern with Dems. They did this shit with Feinstein already and others. And it makes me certain Biden hasn’t actually been running the country for a long while now and they’ve been covering that fact up.
Biden as the nominee is not a foregone conclusion. The party has a convention precisely for the reasons we are now all discussing. Nominating an elderly and optically disappointing candidate is not advisable, and the delegates should nominate Kamala Harris instead.
