I don't really want a cassette player, but I NEED The Cassette Player my dad had lying around in the basement for the last 30 years (turns out that one is busted though, so I would settle for a doppelgänger.)

My mom sweetly checked all the thrift and pawn shops in her town for a vintage walkman I mentioned I'm interested in, and the guy at one tried to hype her up on brand new $40 USB powered one from Amazon. Parents just don't understand!

I think it would be nice to have more fleshed out older characters in media aimed at the young that they can see themselves growing in to. (ESPECIALLY happily married/loving people? Why is this so rare? They exist, I've seen it on reddit)

I think I really benefitted from reading about older people, specifically when I was younger. Made me realize that there was more to the world than being sexy and likable and successful - reading about people who racked up failures and heart breaks and survived to keep doing interesting things

In my experience approaching middle age is having a constant existential identity crisis about who I am and how I should be spending my time, every minute! Might have more to do with being an artist than being an adult, though.

I read and loved a lot of literary novels in my teens and twenties about the adventures of middle aged and elderly people that I empathized with but couldn't entirely relate to at the time, and it's been fun growing up and recognizing some of those feelings and experiences in my own life

Thinking more and more lately of wanting to write more middle-aged stories, especially touching on still feeling like a teenager but then surprising myself when I discover accidentally acquired all these skills and competencies and I'm not as helpless as I always feel. Also: the evil of nostalgia

Instead of working on Renters Market or finishing my OSAP application I spent all day ripping apart my apartment looking for my health card, and then standing in line to get a new health card. I did not know that my doctor of a decade would charge me a whole bunch of money for being sloppy. 😩

There's always people on TV getting therapy for phobias and it's exclusively a) agoraphobia or b) the butt of a joke. In a decade of looking I've seen less than a handful of therapist that specialize and never one taking clients. GAD/panic specialists sometimes won't touch without training, like ED.

I have collected many other form-fitting accommodation requirements, don't you worry - but boy how I wish there was a check-box for my stupid thing and I didn't have to write it out every time

Someday when I am less embarrassed about it (hopefully because I will be No Longer Mentally Ill) I will make a zine about cleithrophobia and how much it sucks and how it comes up any time I attend any event ever and how phobias simply do not fit on forms.

It's sooooo good
A few years ago I went through my livejournal archive and noted all the MP3s html tags I posted for download - so many of those bands don't exist anymore and their music isn't archived publically anywhere (even in my mish mash back up, I've had accidents)

I saw someone suggested an egg boiling appliance, I heartily recommend an instapot. They're not over rated. You can do a perfect egg in there, you can do potatoes and corn and black beans, curry, and you can even saute things. Apparently you can make cake?!

I don't know if this is true, but I heard a rumour on Twitter that if you ask an American hospital billing department for an itemized list sometimes they'll reprice things out of embarrassment?

I love drawing panels of people fidgeting and procrastinating or, like, waiting at a bus stop. Like three panels of picking lint off your lap. Good stuff.
