It is telling though that there is no country (that I can think of) in the world that is still maintaining these measures at a national level.

Maybe not the ones who didn't had to deal with large epidemics constantly. Cameroon for one, had previous cases of ebola, Marbug virus and now has reintroduced measures against covid, since it grew back. But as you said, it has become a seazonal disease. local efforts are much more effective.
