I actually avoid bringing up my culture since I think of it as a personal part of me and not a part of my work. Every now and then, I do bring it up only if certain family stuff interferes with my work schedule, lol. I speak white, but I'm illiterate so I'm not the best to ask for language advice.

My parents are refugees so the tradition is still strong in their generation. After mine though, I think it'll slowly die out. It may not seem like it, but I'm quite proud of my culture and roots.

Ah yeah, I think Hmongs converting to Christianity are the types who've abandoned our traditions. That said, there's a good chunk of Hmong people who are Christian but still do the shaman stuff too which doesn't make sense to me, but oh well.

Yeah but it's for good health, good luck, etc. It doesn't always have to be for a sick person. We do call someone, but we have shaman relatives.

We use chicken in pretty much everything. They're also used to feed spirits too, and the eggs are for blessings and good luck. In the end, we still eat them so. Yeah... They're mainly food.

It's hard to say, but it's a wide combination of SEA-like foods. Think lots of herbs, chicken, pork, freshwater fish (catfish especially), and spices. Foodies have been tapping into Hmong food lately on Youtube so you might get a better idea from watching them.

Personally, I don't like joining servers. I prefer chat DM's on discord because of how public servers are. It also reminds me of the old MSN/Skype days hahaha I'm such a boomer now.😰

Originally I joined the servers cuz I wanted to play with people, but got really turned off when I saw how people typed. There were people talking mad shit about me, too so I just decided to lurk. The EN fandom absolutely is a mistake.

Haha yeah there were plenty of kind people, but I'm in ProSeka discord servers too and people are a lot less filtered in those. I just lurk in there now.

Yeah they were laughing at a tweet I made with a screenshot of their discord chat. It just so happen they were a part of the "L DESERVED" group when I got my account suspended.
