Yeah agreed, plus I've also noticed that some of the bigger companies I've interacted with are so cemented in that it's in their interest to be rigid, it keeps up reliance on them

I know this is biased but I'd argue a lot of the wasted time and money comes from having to appease govt individuals with goose chases resulting from their lack of domain specific knowledge combined with political influence

Maybe I was too naive going in but it was surprising how many people on the govt side had the mentality of "Need to maximize X value so I can get promoted and moved somewhere else, regardless of what the best use of resources might be". That being ontop of the issues of scale
