What's impressive is that they know exactly where the low-hanging fruit that doesn't need parliamentary approval is and they're ripping into it immediately. I think a lot of voters don't realise how much stuff is done with the stroke of a pen.

Onshore, yes. Planning rules meant you could only get permission if there was no local opposition, and because there's always that one person it was a de facto ban. Only applied to wind turbines, nothing else.

I'll take "heart in the right place but a bit wonky on the detail" over the opposite any day. It'd be slightly more alarming if it had been her brief in opposition and had that misconception (and it really stands out that she's one of the few to be covering a new brief).

That also handily provides a reason they didn't actually resolve any of this industrial action - it wasn't in the Tory interest when it was giving them a message that (mystifyingly) cut through to their base. I'm sure there's a bit of cosplay Thatcher in there too, of course.

I suspect their core (aging!) vote still associate strikes with Labour though. I'm sure my parents do. Explains two years of otherwise bizarre messaging that "these massive, disruptive strikes we've provoked, encouraged and prolonged are what you get with Labour".

Sudden alarm bells rang until I realised that my own university study trip to Pembrokeshire didn't involve anything in a toilet, public or not. Otherwise I might have been able to give you an exciting update on the whole "cis" thing... Must be something in the water there.
