A lot of "marketing" also comes down to reward tiers and stretch goals, which aren't usually part of a straight pre-order approach. A publisher might offer a deluxe edition, but I don't think it's the default mode; and I don't know of any publisher offering stretch goals for as it gets more orders.

The most charitable interpretation is that they think they have solved the issue by getting Dobbs decided, so they don't need to talk about it. (I am not interested in being charitable to the GOP, but I would not be surprised if that's the approach they take if questioned on it.)

He's not really trying to do that because he needs the people behind it to run his administration of he wins. But he is trying to *look* like he's distancing the party from P2025 because it's getting more and more unpopular with the electorate as they learn more about it.

I'm wondering if record labels saw MTV as a cash cow and started hiking license fees for their videos, so Viacom pivoted to something whose costs they could control better. (I have no idea what the MTV business model was, though, so I am probably completely wrong.)

He's no more or less "on track to losing" than he was before the debate. Nobody was suggesting he should drop out before the debate. If all the panicky pundits and "advisors" would stop harping on the debate, it would stop being the story. (Some of them are, of course, "panicking" in bad faith.)

I think the only way they might be able to force him to step aside is to invoke the 25th Amendment, deciding he's incapable of performing as president. I don't think he could stay on the ballot then. They won't - and shouldn't - do that, but it's the only way I can think of to force the issue.

Sometimes I wonder why we don't see anywhere near as much of this on the right, but then I realize: the right seeks only power and control, and solidarity despite differences is the way to get that; the left seeks to solve actual problems, and everyone has different priorities.

The UCMJ doesn't apply to civilians (with some exceptions for civilians while working with the armed forces). I just don't see how he gets McConnell/Pence/Harris/etc. before a military tribunal. There's enough real shit to be worried about; we don't have to unnecessarily multiply the horrors.
