all power to the people doing that work, i respect it greatly. i do not think that there is a technological approach that will make LLMs emancipatory, social change is the way. outside of machine translation i make a strong effort to simply not use these tools.

it's vital that counterinstitions exist to steer this technology but i've yet to see a FOSS project that doesn't end up having its benefits harvested by these same monopolies once they become productive
