I think a lot of industries went full throttle when people started going out after the pandemic. I’ve read a few things about the music industry and touring, and it’s so bleak and infuriating what venues and management are doing to artists. I’d imagine something similar is happening for weddings.

oh yeah this was like 10 years ago. I think our venue (historical building in a park on the river) was $800. Yeah $100k makes me dizzy. It’s one day! You can literally put a down payment on a house and then throw a rager in your backyard for the reception for that money!

ahahaha we had strict limits on speeches at our wedding, parents only, 3 minutes. Our ceremony was also the bare minimum required by law. And we did pictures before so there wouldn’t be that ceremony-reception interregnum where people just have to stand still and not sweat into their nice outfits
