I see a lot of people complain about the modbot applying a label to their NSFW photos and I just don't understand it. I'm way more likely to mute/block people who get onto my TL when it's a bad time for those than if I just see a [show more] button.

This, definitely! I wish they'd implement the same kind of reminder for this as they have for alt-text, tbh 😭 I am forgetful and miss it at times bc it is so out of the way/small and not present on the image itself. However I think others have said - sometimes the auto-mod overrides your self tags,

This keeps needing to be said because it keeps being an issue. People cannot use tools on this site to curate their experience if UPLOADERS do not post appropriately. Every time I see someone's mislabled pics I check their page and NONE of their posts are self labeled. :/

Quite a few artists do add the NSFW tag on these posts which I added that to my black list. But sometimes, some do tag slightly differently without including the tag the others use (for example: garyNSFWart or something similar). Even worse is not including any sorts of NSFW tags or even words.

Honestly. Like I’m fine with nsfw and people drawing/sharing it, but I really liked bluesky for it’s good filtering when I joined, until kinda now where I open the app in public and I see full tiddy and ass and I’m like “Ah come on, I haven’t changed a single thing.” At least hashtag it.

Also be aware that the system's autotagger may override your label. If it does, you can appeal the label, and I've gotten good results doing this. (I post pictures that include "artistic nudity," and the system will try to call them "sexually suggestive." When that tag applies, I use it.)

honey, if you have an image with cleavage or femme presenting nipples your image is going to automatically be labelled sexually explicit. the autolabeller will override ot and if you appeal it and win it'll just remove all labels instead of using the user selected label
