There has long been a different regime for commercial speech. Can't outright commit fraud in advertising (at least in theory). Might need a liability gap between "news" and "opinion" but any fix is going to need flexibility to push back on the attacks that will always always come.

I think there is absolutely value in debate, but it needs to come between people who know each other on a level beyond "yelling online." Especially where you hit a subject that you have a feeling on, but realize a friend disagrees from a point of expertise.
