As someone who actually thinks all three of those are valid and important principles (well, 2-and-a-half; originalism, like textualism, is a tool, not a principle), watching these schmucks wear them like purim costumes has been a (less significant) pain separate and apart from the substantive pain.

A reminder that if Trump wins & purges the civil service to replace it with loyalists as planned, all sorts of govt data will become totally untrustworthy.
The House GOP is already trying to rig the census to screw Democrats in redistricting after Trump's first-term attempt failed

One of the many things I will never forgive Trump for is mainstreaming horrible people like Gorka.

As noted, I'm doing the Daf Yomi, reading a page of Talmud every day for 7 years. I'm 4.5 years in and the Talmud is often tedious, sometimes interesting, occasionally funny. And sometimes you get something miraculous, like the argument that charity is the strongest force in the world.

I was probably autistic. But no one called it that then. They just bullied me until I gave up having a personality.

I hope so. I've gotten sick of the GOP being able to do all this stuff on the quiet because no one's paying attention.

Allergies didn't exist until recently. My mom would just swell up and occasionally start choking to death when she ate strawberries for no reason at all.

XCKD did a whole long thing on a (far far) future recurrence of the Zanclean Flood and it weirded me out for quite a while that this was a thing that happened. I mean 5 million years ago, but it happened.

Thanks. It's still Amazon-published, so not like someone backed up a truck full of money to my house (although my DM's are open). But based on the feedback and an edit, I decided to go ahead and do print-on-demand.

If someone wants to belch coal dust in your face, that's freedom. But if they want to build solar panels on their own property, freedom demands we forbid it. Insane.

Trump’s 2016 platform don’t promise he stuff millions into his own pocket and yet it happened. They will never figure out that he regards these kind of documents as less than meaningless.

Deep breaths are important! And social media is very prone to stoking overwrought panic. Which I why I tend to seek out those of a calmer disposition. When they it's time to panic, then it really is time to panic.

Chevron was a predictable outcome from an overly-political, results-driven SCOTUS.
The Trump Immunity case is, AT BEST, sloppy political hackery that accidentally paves the way to autocracy while simultaneously revealing several different ways the Court has fundamentally broken the judiciary.

100%. There's a bit of scramble to pretend the decision says something other than what it does. If Hamilton knew they were quoting him to say we need an unaccountable chief exec, he'd rise from the grave and challenge the justices to a duel.

Here's the thing: the people pulling the fire alarm on Trump v. US are people like Radley, Legal Eagle and @kenwhite.bsky.social , etc. I've followed these guys for years and they are not prone to panic-mongering. They're usually the ones saying, "Take a deep breath". It really is that bad.

Anyone keeping track of the narratives pushed by law & order centrists during the pandemic that have disintegrated?
I've got the shoplifting panic, cops quitting because of protesters, progressive DAs ushering in new age of crime & violence, bail reform = more crime . . .
Others?
