That’s not futurism tho, that’s socialism. As someone living in a former communist country in Eastern Europe, this is what we already had here decades ago and it’s only now being slowly dedeveloped away.
It’s the only kind of future that makes sense for climate adaptation and quality of life. Just because a bad system might have looked superficially similar in a bad time doesn’t mean a good future is one choked with cars and parking lots and single-family houses
