Oli Frost creates novelty songs about the climate crisis-- from sea shanties to vampiric synth-pop bop.
His first single, "The Greta Thunberg Song" (to which Greta danced the macarena) is now up for an award; to help him win, just "like" the video below on YouTube. Please do!

I think democrats need to get pragmatic and put country before ego. Just because hard core democrats love Joe, your average independent is looking at him and thinking nursing home. Joe isn’t going to get better.

I’m curious what follow up is being done on the infected farms. It’s been a while since Michigan had a new herd, are they retesting the cows from these farms? The mice?

If any storm ever earned the boilerplate caution "do not focus on the exact forecast track", it's #Alberto. Major coastal flooding has occurred near Galveston TX, more than 500 mi N of Alberto's center! Here's more from me and @drjeffmasters.bsky.social:

Many of us in Michigan feel that Enbridge is a bad corporate citizen. We remember the Kalamazoo and when we cross the Mackinaw Bridge, we wonder when Line 5 is going to blow. I didn’t know Ford was going backwards on renewables. I hope voters in Ontario kick him out.

I was just thinking dang, solar should have displaced coal by now. I want natural gas down to 5% by 2027, and coal to zero by 2926. Anyone who complains that it will cost too much is obviously ignoring what the catastrophe is costing us already.

I remember that too. I had a fit. Those military planners need to take some coursework in ethics.

Thanks for the link. I was wondering about those stinky duct tape VOCs. Good to know it doesn’t last long.

I’m still harping about a national 55 mph speed limit. Fast heavy cars crush other cars better than slow heavy cars. Batteries could be smaller due to less wind resistance, better miles/KWH. Plus, I swear, we have way too many low skill drivers on the road. Their reaction time stinks.

I bet if we converted some corn ethanol to solar and did a better job with N application we’d see reductions. www.canr.msu.edu/resources/ma....

I know local rooftop in most parts of the country won’t supply more than 30% year round, but it will make a big dent without distribution issues. I hope big cheap sodium ion batteries and bidirectional EVs become available soon

I’m all ears. What do you see as a better approach? My elected reps are all gop/maga so my calls are a waste. We donated to our democratic senator and their opinion is climate is a low tier issue. I’m frustrated with the lack motivation. I did a climate defiance action and support them. Ideas?

Cool! I was looking for something like this for Michigan, I was having to use MISO’s data which is too big. We have so much room for more solar!

I always read these types of articles expecting a call for clean indoor air. I’m usually disappointed. I appreciated the other NPIs were discussed, but dang, ASHRAE 241 spells out what we should be doing. CO2 sensors cost $20 for materials, CR boxes using computer fans are affordable and quiet.

Some great views: “individuals engaging with and advocating for change where they live, work, study, worship and play has driven massive societal shifts in the past and can do so again.” And: “As for the future, your task is not to foresee it, but to enable it.”

It is crazy how the newspapers in Michigan are ignoring this. The health department’s website ignores it too, you have use the search function to find information.

Some good points about how the current economic system gives false freedoms: “giving more freedom to corporations to pollute reduces the freedom of the rest of us to live a healthy life — and in the case of those with asthma, even the freedom to live.”

If I were boss I’d put 2 at every public library. Big employers who have parking lots should be mandated to have level 2 chargers. Every rest area needs the fast ones. Street lights should have them too!

No, they are not killing the cows. The infection reportedly is resolving in the cows in two weeks. Milk production is high in the spring, USDA said they don’t expect shortages. Milk in the stores is okay, pasteurization deactivates viruses and they aren’t supposed to sell milk from sick cows.

My roof in Michigan, not in totality, about 99%. I have some west facing panels. I’m surprised it made as much as it did, I figured it would go almost to zero, but that sliver of sun is still powerful.
