Yeah. Because Bostock was the last good thing that will happen at the Court for decades, there was some nice hope about it actually being broadly useful (e.g. lower courts extending its reading of “sex” to other statutes). And now—well, lower courts still can, but agencies can’t (effectively).

Complicated question for me normally, but in my casual Double explorations, turning is part of the fun. In fact, playing something easy enough to just do all the turns is part of it. The problem is the pad awareness for that playing on SMX though

It is very toxic how terfs exploit the concept of “detransition” to try to undermine both trans and cis peoples’ exploration of gender. The entire concept tacitly assumes that something bad happened if you tried something and then tried/concluded something different.

If you’re doing stuff that is probably inadvisable for safety reasons in the first place, and the very least needs a really full handling of consent/limits/safety etc., texts of the “I like you a lot” ilk just don’t evidence that anything like the necessary discussion took place.

Not only…yes, this, but also the extremeness and intensity of some of the behavior described undermines the supposed consent framing. Even if someone reads the messages totally naively as describing a consensual relationship, it’s not consent _for this_.

And also, until I saw comments like this, I didn’t put together the whole situation that the story came out via bad podcast framing and that’s why the narrative is such a mess. I guess I default assumed that the podcast that broke it would be supportive (why 🤷🏽♀️).

And in some ways this case requires you to engage in an odd, unfamiliar act of imagination: what _could_ someone do if they were unconstrained by the criminal law? That's sort of unsettling even if the person isn't the President! Criminal laws limiting behavior is quite baked into our thinking.
