Probably? Possibly? But would these people prefer they didn't win? When it's literally less than 24 hrs after winning and they are like "In 5 years this may be real trouble" and "this winning platform isn't everything in the platform I wanted" that's unhealthy

All I'm saying if you go back and appeal to the founders REALLY don't expect them to be on your side. They elected the president through representatives where only landowning white men were involved in the process at any level. The king thing might bother them but not more than women voting.

The balance between different classes in America is in flux and you aren't sure if you can get most of the country screaming but in terms of voters it's always like 100% Americans and 0% non-Americans so guess what the country screams along with the most?

The Supreme Court said "Pres Jackson can't do this" and he shrugged and did it and nothing happened. The way it would happen isn't a legal acceptance of someone skirting rules but someone busting through and doing whatever they want and most of the country screaming along with it

I find the "now we'll have a dictator because there's no laws to stop him" a really naive way of thinking. Like a future dictator is thinking "Huh, Supreme Court said no. Guess I won't try to be a dictator" Rulings are bad but we've always been a crazy leader & enough support away from bad things

As much as you want to say "The Supreme Court made the President King!" really it's more "The Supreme Court isn't going to be the one that decides if the President is King or not. You can do that" You can argue if that's effectively the same thing but it's more them begging off than anything.

The Padres have long ball issues. The punchless Nats could in theory luck into enough but the park will mitigate those chances. Funny thing is Corbin would probably slot in well here (well as well as he can slot in anywhere) like he did against ARI since Pads don't walk or homer

Interestingly enough if I were to come up with an ideal team to face the Nats it would be the Padres playing the games in San Diego. Offense works on hits not walks or homers. Pitching is ok, but is bit by the long ball. Baseball is funny though
