I'll answer: Not personally, no. But I've packed ritual objects in checked luggage with a note explaining that it's for religious purposes because I've heard some horror stories.

This is a great example of religious privilege. Christians in the US typically don’t worry about religious items in their luggage. Gonna slip this into my list of religious privileges for my students.
