I mean, domestic politics aside, I can think of a few other issues that have considerable salience: 1. Integrated intelligence structures 2. Obsession with Iran, not only in DC, but among most other regional partners. 3. The strategic costs of selling out an ally, regardless of other factors

1. Is the elite bit. I have some insight into that and it goes beyond mere shared interests. 2. Is right. Although Israeli conduct under Netanyahu was often at odds at least with DC preferred MO. 3. Yes but also declines over time if the image that it’s an ally weakens.
