Really hate how loneliness is super prevalent these days due to many things (Internet, covid etc) and yet talking about it is even more stigmatised. I have very few friends irl and I am indeed very lonely 😅 despite having online friends and communities and a husband.

I don't want to be pitied for it, there are multiple reasons why this happened to me. But I'm always trying to make new friends where I can it's just difficult now that I'm older. I don't think I've had a same sex friend I can confide in fully since I was a teen.

Ohai, a relatable artist... 🥲 In all seriousness, it does feel lonely even when being able to connect to hundreds or thousands of people online. Not knowing which people I can fully trust, hence why I feel like I become jaded more and more each day. 😮💨

Same. And i'm missing the later two too. Moving at the height of covid, into a town thats faaaaar from bustling, losing my whole circle of friends to a gaslighter. Sucks. And now i wonder how "adults" make RL friends without looking like a fucking lunatic in a judgmental society.

In all honesty I think it's a blend of city life being far more isolating and social media creating an expectation that everyone is constantly partying except us. Real high quality interactions with people that aren't your immediate family are rare and far between.

I completely understand where you're coming from, to this day I second the same sentiments you're speaking of. I DO try to reach out to female friends, even just on Discord, and I really want to be a girl's girl, but I find I stand in my own way and second guess everything I say and do.
