i flail around too much to keep my volumes level so i got a broadcast headset with a scarlett solo amp. i can throw my head around as much as i like but the mic is always the same distance from my mouth
yeah, that's why i've generally gone for a usb headset. the distance from mic to mouth is even, it's a directional mic that is going to primarily pic up only what you're saying. plus, muting yourself tends to be easier too when you need to.
charles tends to both drop his voice when he's being slyly funny, and the acoustics in the room also aren't great so when i do all the compressing and normalizing it tends to further exacerbate the room acoustics
