I’m not sure what the point of watching the debates would have been. They’re neither informative (every debate demonstrates that our politicians are just shit fucking orators) nor are they entertaining (because, again, they’re shitty orators.)

At the moment the debates just feel like a vestigial performance of an institution that mattered for helping the electorate decide, but now it’s just a ritual to add legitimacy to a bankrupt process.
