Meanwhile I pray for Who Season 7 on Blu to end my distress over how to deal with the Mannequin Mania and Beneath the Surface slipcases and the knock on impact their deployment then has on the Peladon Tales, Myths and Legends, Revisitations 3 and 2 and Dalek War ones.

I would have at least turned one of the spines so a Paramount logo was upside down. Amateurs. And that's before all the tapes get swapped about, a case goes spine in and you find two of them are actually off air recordings of Jason of Star Command.

It had been so long since they'd experienced either that they'd started to confuse the feelings of euphoria and relief.

What if Bergman's The Seventh Seal was more of a fish out of water time travel caper? Hugely enjoyable!

Gary Gillatt's A-Z? "In the audience, actress Wendy Richard-who as bitter mother of three Pauline Fowler had been the locus around which all of EastEnders had revolved since it's launch in 1985- put up a hand to check her hair. Co-star Barbara Windsor leaned forward in her seat, ready to stand."

A belated thank you and welcome to our new followers! We hope you are enjoying our posts, and they are sparking interest in women you may not have heard of as well as the ones you have. We've just passed 500, which is good on a site with no algorithm.

Also Robert Hardy graciously being pleased for Davison. I could have sworn there was a shot of Wendy Richard preparing to get up, then confusion and a face like thunder at one point... My cheating memory.

My memory had projected the entitled indignation entirely onto Wendy Richard. Funny what sticks.

I think they already had chopped a chunk of the middle out! Whole extra threat lost in the space between the worlds. Less apparent than the edit hacks that clearly mess up parts of Orphan 55 and particularly The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos which is full of ADR over cutaway shots of feet etc.

Pleurisy was the sequel to Misery. It's basically the same but it's rainy not snowy.

I liked this one on the telly. Was quite sold on this as a new direction. Never really followed up as the next season went all "parade the old favourites".

I saw a chunk of Askey in a filmed stage farce for ITV in the 1950s at a BFI event called Jack Hylton Presents years ago. What was striking was his physicality, energy and connection with a live audience. He had it, but not much translates to film, radio or The Old Boys' Network in later life.

Well Deryck Guyler's in ITMA and works even there, so sometimes what persists is mysterious or subject to how tastes move.

It was invented as a test to root out fifth columnists- anyone who knew all the catchphrases or laughed at any of it had clearly taken a course in passing for British at Heidelberg and didn't know we were faking our pleasure. It was a bit like Wilfred Pickles reading the news or Mornington Crescent.

@andrewhickey.bsky.social Do you think Guy Garvey listens to the podcast at all? Obviously a potted history of the Monkees will always resemble other potted histories of the Monkees but his 6 Music show this afternoon did briefly alight on a couple of things you've discussed.

It's exciting seeing him in colour. We're (I'm) so used to that almost pale, almost vampiric, monochrome presence in the famous pic.

Trust Me is terrific, Alfred Molina as a charming duper of the tabloids with great support from his wife Jill Gascoigne, Hywel Bennett, Roger Lloyd Pack, Edna Dore etc, etc... A beautiful comic performance from Jack Shepherd and a lovely script from Tony Sarchet. Seek it out!

The world is divided into three types of people- The ones you learn were nastier than you thought from their obits, The ones you learn were nicer than you thought from their obits, The ones who don't get obits. Choose wisely.

I heard about a nice audio recovery of some missing TV earlier. The tantalising thing is it was apparently from a featured actor's personal collection. I hope they taped a few other things. They were in quite a lot.

Did it answer? I once said "aah" at the sight of a happy, waggy-tailed dog who later decided to be a bit of bin bag flapping on a barbed wire fence.

One of the regulars has already committed to a 6 month theatre run in Sleuth and the main one's excused standing."
