Yeah… this fills me with rage (not towards you, to be clear!) Incentives in our economy are completely fucked. Half the fast food restaurants in Glasgow are dire and I’m convinced it’s because they just don’t pay their staff enough to care. But fixing that would cut into CEO bonuses obviously :(((

Some people can. Those people are in a position where their families feel secure and safe. If you're on 100k a year, of course you're going to want to keep that. Just don't say we're in the same position because if you're on 100k you're being paid 5 times my wages, and I'm a manager.

And there's no chance of getting paid more because then the price of products would go up. So there's always gonna be this imbalance. I'm not asking foranyone else's money. Just understand and be an ally to your lowly shop and bar workers.

I get 18k a year for a management retail position. Neither of us are billionaires, but I think office workers, on the whole, just don't get what it's like to have to choose between rent and food most months. Especially if you're telling me you're getting 6 figures. That's impossible for me.

Well it's, on average, better paid then every retail and bar job out there. My manager, of the whole shop, is on just over 20k a year for 50 hour weeks, on their feet, with minimum holidays and sick days. It's not a trope, it's a real imbalance in how "unskilled" work is treated in the UK.

I just feel like if you're not an IT professional, you're basically pierced out of most things in the fandom now unless you're saving up all year and can't do anything else. We go to an event in the UK and the tickets are still 20 quid, which is incredible. If it were 40 each we'd have to stop

When I see sketches going cheap I don't think they're worthless, what an arsehole thing to think. What I think is "oh wow a thing I can afford without sacrificing half my holiday spending money" Living in the mentality of capitalism rots your brain, I swear to God.
