My local school admin is set on aligning our material with national standards (whew!), but the new state education director was hand-picked by our Governor for his role in guiding FL's curriculum. And our new education laws are now the guidelines that TX is trying to adopt. It's murky at best.

52. Central AR. Taught my whole life (K-College) that not only was it states' rights, but also slavery was actually good for everyone. As a public school teacher in AR today with my current govt, it's still a bit risky to say otherwise.
