This is one of the many reasons I stopped going to the large, fast group rides. Too much inexperience. Dudes who really shouldn’t be there but just want to brag to their buddies about the avg speed. Glad you’re mostly ok.

Not to derail away from David's injury, but same. Every time I've tried to do a road group ride in the past few years I just end up splitting off annoyed. Dangerous riding, people surging at the front. Meh. If I want a fast workout I just do it on my own. The only groups I do now are mixed or social
