By using a word that is used to marginalize a group as a pejorative against a single person doesn’t make the word less problematic to the wider group it maligns. We can punch Nazis AND use better language to cal out their bigotry besides things like “stupid” or “dumb” or r*t*rd. /2

I get that it’s hard and frustrating. I still catch myself and slip up ALL the time when it comes to words like “dumb” or “stupid” or “idiot”. That we don’t have easy substitute words in these situations shows how ableist we are as a society. We need to do better starting NOW. /3
