Ageist as fuck.
Alsoā¦not sure how many people today know this but the longest ever serving president was confined to a wheelchair. Unassisted mobility isnāt a requirement to run this country.

The real question is why are you so entrenched about the use of a handful of words that arenāt gonna change bigots hearts or minds but DO let others know you arenāt an ally. Why are you so insistent on using those words. Maybe examine that.

So do I. I grew up around them. Hell, Iām related to some of them. Iāve been āfighting the good fightā for 25+ years. Calling them āstupidā instead of a bigot or similar isnāt magically gonna fix them. In fact it just entrenches them further. Thereās literal reams of research about that.

Webdev influencers?! Thatās a thing?! Ok itās time to kill social media. This has gone WAY too far (also agree with you šÆ. Iām just floored by the concept of webdev influencers)

Iāll still stand toe to toe against those who threaten my and my loved oneās existence. Iāll throw a punch or a rock or pull a trigger if I have to in order to defend me and mine. But I can also do all that while avoiding language that harms the folks Iām trying to protect. /end

I get that itās hard and frustrating. I still catch myself and slip up ALL the time when it comes to words like ādumbā or āstupidā or āidiotā. That we donāt have easy substitute words in these situations shows how ableist we are as a society. We need to do better starting NOW. /3

By using a word that is used to marginalize a group as a pejorative against a single person doesnāt make the word less problematic to the wider group it maligns. We can punch Nazis AND use better language to cal out their bigotry besides things like āstupidā or ādumbā or r*t*rd. /2

As a queer, disabled Jew I know full well what we are up against. Still, calling people āmoronsā or āstupidā bc āitās not directed at a specific groupā is like saying itās ok to call a bigot a f*gg*t or a k*ke. /1

Just unfollowed someone so fast on the other site after they shared a post talmbout people being selfish for 'fearmongering' about Project 2025 in order to get people to vote
Republicans' stated intentions are scary, but providing accurate info about them is not fearmongering! It's just the stakes!

Why do that when they can just do it unilaterally without having to risk elections every few years or worry about political opposition etc.

I would never favor Trump as President. Didnāt the first time and donāt now. But I was also quite stunned by how quickly so many of the white people who Really Cared about our suffering justā¦ stopped paying attention anymore after he left office. Fascists in many communities noticed & acted swiftly.

Keeping Trump out of the White House isnāt the only thing that needs doing and it isnāt enough to solve all problems facing the country & world but if it isnāt done then all those problems get exponentially worse in ways I donāt even know how to express and it scares me when people pretend otherwise

āOh Trump is a conman, heās pulling the wool over peoples eyesā Yeah to some degree, but the main core reason he was President and might well be President again is a lot of people fucking love being racist

I donāt even know that they are pro-GOP. They are just pro-chaos. More chaos means more ragey click bait. More click bait means more $$. NYT should be ashamed but isnāt capable of feeling such a thing.

Iād LOVE to see her be POTUS bc she is one of the most qualified people out there IMO. But I also DONāT want her to ever run bc she put up with enough bs for a lifetime when she was FLOTUS. She didnāt deserve the ire of RW media and itād be so much worse if she were POTUS.

Then perhaps Biden should start with locking up the 6 justices that issued the opinion as they endanger the institutions of democracy and upholding the Constitution is definitely an āofficial actā of the POTUS.
Then go after Trump.

And I've reached the point where I, too, believe RBG ultimately failed the country she served so well for so longāyet it is DAMN telling that people are only too happy to lay the blame for what our white supremacist patriarchy has wrought at the feet of that one (1) woman.

In my opinion, the conservative members of the Supreme Court represent a clear and present danger to the ongoing stability and peace of the United States.
Given that situation, a President would be well within his Core Constitutional powers to eliminate that danger

Um thatās not what sheād be deciding. The argument was made to her once already that his J6 actions were in the āouter perimeterā of his duties as POTUS. She ruled that he wasnāt acting as POTUS but rather in his capacity as candidate. Therefore not an official act of office.

Easy to lose sight of the significance here, but the sitting president just gave a speech condemning the Supreme Court for a ruling that expands presidential power. Itās also a president who stands to benefit from this ruling, given that his opponent is vowing to imprison him and his family.
