The owl is still here! (again, blurry pic from my video that I can't post here yet without doing technical things) It was startled by a deer walking past, and took off from where it was perched on the loose borehole pipe sticking out of the ground. I was looking at the deer and then OH GOD WHAT

I thought that when they introduced her, and was braced for a bit of swivel-eye lunacy. But then - sense? Hats off to Daphne. May her kind hold the line of decent politics. God knows I don't agree with her but recognise there are grades of tory.

Weekly chat with my mother to do her shopping, being super-upbeat to counteract her constant doom. She doesn't like Starmer's voice, hair, appearance. Rishi is dishy. Admits, when pushed, that what might happen now is better than what went before. As a kid, I folded Liberal leaflets every election.

I'm rationalising the hideous reform numbers by thinking of them as having been hidden in the mouth-frothing section of the tory vote up to now. They are just becoming visible.
