another advantage? it's easier to make decisions as a player. It's harder to get the feeling that under 10% changes do in 6 digits, rather than what +1 or 2 do on 2 digits, even if mathematically it's essentially the same

He mentioned in a follow up tweet about vicious mockery not requiring a roll. Personally, I think it follows that a player that doesn't even wait for a description would roll as soon as they declared their action, and a frustrated dm would allow it to pass (if only to punish them :P)
