Thanks! That’s a real compliment. I always liked how Gorey’s lines can follow in a single direction, but as the lines get closer together, they can merge. Tom Gauld works in a similar way too.

Thanks! I’ve always felt they were delicate, graceful, solemn creatures, so I draw them crying a lot. It’s become a bit of a motif. Barn owls are on the decline in the British countryside.

It’s disheartening to not have some big, central thing to update people with. I’ve been taking great joy in collecting Pokémon cards. Life is so chaotic, it gives me a little bit of order. I love having this mini gallery of tiny pieces of art. They inspired me to work extra hard on my MTG cards. I’ve been aiming to collect cards from this book I’ve had since I was 12.

Finished both. A3 Moleskinne sketchbook with fineliner. It was a pain to fill the sky because the left side of the open sketchbook got in the way. Still rewarding and fun to make.
