We also *must* continue to adopt stringent building energy codes. Buildings built to code are cheaper to cool, and retain their safe/cool temps far longer during power outages. Building to code also radically reduces the carbon emissions required to heat/cool a home, so root cause mitigation also!

My version of this is that I believe every restaurant should have to give away one item for free; the cheapest classic item from their genre of cuisine. Cacio e pepe, chicken broth with rice, rice and beans, buttered spaghetti, etc. ideally they all stock an automat outside their front door.
