Former presidents can usually still ask to be briefed and potus candidates have access to the pdb so that whoever wins can walk in prepared for the job.

Biden could revoke his clearance, but being the candidate would likely reinstate it as a matter of policy. Not to mention that while Hunter’s behavior doesn’t really reflect on Joe, an immediate relative getting a felony can disqualify the average person from having a clearance. I’ve seen it happen.
